President Khator Visits NSM By: Shannah LeDee

UH President Renu Khator officially visited the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics for the first time in early February . Khator met with students from each of the departments, NSM Ambassadors and NSM student leaders Feb. 8. Khator asked students about their experiences at UH and listened to suggestions on how to improve the university.
Khator is spending her first 100 days as president listening to students, alumni, faculty, staff and community members on how to strengthen the reputation of the university as a nationally premier research institution. Through her program, 100 Days, she is reaching out for innovative ideas about taking the university to new heights.. Khator already has received thousands of suggestions ranging from strengthening the on-campus community and improving graduation rates, to attracting nationally prominent faculty and promoting stronger local research partnerships.
After her first 100 days in office, she will meet with the Board of Regents and her leadership team to analyze the suggestions and outline strategies, plans and priorities. Khator encourages those who have not sent in suggestions to complete the 100 Days Survey, which is online at http://www.uh.edu/about/offices/president/100-days. To take the survey, click on “Share Your Ideas” found on the right side of the Web page.
